The study aimed to determine the teacher strategies and classroom management practices amid student absenteeism and the reasons for student absenteeism. Phenomenological descriptive qualitative method was used to gather the strategies and classroom management practices of teachers. It also used NVivo to find the main ideas that came up in structured interviews with ten teachers from Aring Elementary School in Badoc, Ilocos Norte.
The study revealed that the main reasons people don't go to school are health problems, family problems, lack of interest, money problems, and bad school environments. In response, teachers used professional development, open communication with parents, extra support sessions, positive reinforcement, and working with community leaders. These methods showed how teachers change their classes and made it safe for kids who have missed school to come back. The study gave schools and politicians important information on how to help students who don't want to learn in a way that includes everyone in the community. It also talked a lot about how important it is for teachers to be able to choose how to deal with students who don't show up.
